Description
Small wooden chapel lacquered black and gold.
It opens onto a statue of Maria Kannon, the goddess holding a child in her arms.
In modern terms we speak of Kakure Kirishitan (Christ hidden) for these representations, which were inspired by the image of Madonna and Child disguised by Japanese Christians persecuted.
