Description
A marugata tsuba in russet iron decorated in sukashi with a butterfly (Ageha-chō), crest of the Taira Family.
Robert E. Haynes\’ comment about this tsuba : «Very early Kyo-sukashi. Ca. 1500 or a little earlier. A little thick; it would be thinner with brass inlay if it were 100 years earlier ».
