Description
Ivory katabori netsuke representing a group of Kyogen masks: an old man, a fox, a stylized lion, a man with a hat sticking out his tongue, and Okame (chubby woman, also known as Otafuku), they are accompanied by different objects or animals: a drum, a fishing rod, a mouse.
From the fifteenth century, it is customary to introduce a comic episod between two Noh plays, called Kyogen: they are equivalent to the little Comedia dell\’arte jokes.
