Description
A marugata iron tsuba decorated in sukashi with chrysanthemum petals and a cherry blossom.
Considered as the most noble of flowers, the Emperor of Japan used the chrysanthemum as a symbol since the Kamakura period; it has no official existence since the 1947 constitution, but continues to be widely used.
