Description
Iron kikugata tsuba, decorated in gold and silver taka-zogan, in gold nunome-zogan, and in taka niku bori.
The design depicts Raïden, the japanese god of lightning and thunder, striking the sea. According to legend, Raïden saved Japan twice from the Mongol invasions by sending two typhoons, known as “kamikaze” (“divine wind”).
