Description
Five case inro made of ro-iro lacquer, decorated in gold takamaki-e and kirkame with a tigress and his tiger cubs under the pines. The eyes are inlaid with glass, giving the impression that the animals are alive.
It represents the story of a tigress wanting to cross a river with his three babys. One was meaner than the other and she had to cross the river seven times so the meaner one was never left with the others at the edge of the river.
